Terms of service
These terms apply when a Shopify store (“you”) installs and uses BookSlot (“we”, “us”). By installing BookSlot you agree to them. Shopify’s own terms also apply to your store and to billing.
1. Beta software
BookSlot is in beta. Features may change, be added or be removed, and there may be bugs. Keep your own records of important bookings; you can export bookings and customers as CSV files at any time.
2. Your responsibilities
- Use BookSlot lawfully and only for your own store.
- Keep your services, prices, hours and booking questions accurate. You are responsible for the appointments you offer, for honouring them, and for your own cancellation, refund and tax rules.
- You are the controller of your customers’ data. Have a privacy policy for your store, ask only for the data you need, and get any consent you need (for example for marketing email).
- Make sure staff who connect a Google Calendar or use a calendar feed are allowed to, and keep feed links private.
- Do not use BookSlot to send spam, to collect data you are not allowed to collect, or to disrupt or probe the service.

- Every new install starts with a 14-day trial of Pro. After the trial you choose a plan; Free needs no charge.
- Paid plans are billed by Shopify in US dollars every 30 days and appear on your Shopify invoice. Charges, proration and refunds follow Shopify’s billing rules; contact us if you think you were charged in error.
- Features marked “planned” are not available yet.
- You can change or cancel your plan at any time from BookSlot’s plan page. Uninstalling cancels it.
- We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email before changing the price of a plan you are on.
- Payments for paid bookings go from your customer to you through your Shopify checkout. BookSlot is not a party to that sale and takes no commission.
4. Your data
Your store’s data stays yours. We handle it as the privacy policy describes and do not sell it.
5. No warranty
BookSlot is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not offer a service-level agreement. Support is by email on a best-effort basis.
6. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about BookSlot is limited to the fees you paid us for BookSlot in the 12 months before the claim (which is nothing on the Free plan), and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits, lost bookings or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
7. Ending the service
- You can stop using BookSlot at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin.
- We may suspend or end access for misuse, for breaking these terms, or if Shopify ends access to the app.
- If we decide to discontinue BookSlot, we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email.
- After uninstall your data is deleted as the privacy policy describes.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you by email before they take effect. Using BookSlot after that means you accept the new terms.
9. Governing law
Note: the governing law and the courts for these terms have not been chosen yet. This section will be completed before BookSlot leaves beta.
